One of the
books I enjoyed reading was the HungerGames by Suzanne Collins, the books in this series are Dystopian themed novels. Now at first I
didn’t think I would like reading this book. It was a book my girlfriend’s
little sister just finished reading, so I didn’t think it would entertain my
interests. Surprisingly this book is now in my top 10 favorite books. The Hunger Games is filled with so much
conflict I had a hard time putting it down.

The Capitol
forces the 11 Districts to draw two names for their Hunger Games event. The
names of the people drawn are from the ages of 12-17. They make them fight in
an event similar to gladiator match in a coliseum. Although this “coliseum” is
more modern and takes place in a setting the Capitol chooses.

In the book
Katniss’s sister gets chosen to participate in the Hunger Games. So, Katniss
volunteers to take her position. Self Sacrifice is an admirable trait for a protagonist.
She is a heroine that tries to live her life as righteous as she can.

ReplyDeleteBlog writing is a new experience for me. The main issue for me is what to
ReplyDeletewrite and how to write. I wrote three blogs on three different texts but I could
not make my blogs catchy because of my insufficient skill of computer.
I have now another job to write a comment on blogs written by my class fellows.
I went through few blogs. However, it is hard to figure out how to start it. Anyway, I am attempting it of Mr. Crawling's blog on Hunger Games written by Suzzane Collins grabbed my attention because of a noun phrase used-" A positive role model" It reminded me of my school teacher who used to talk about role model and presented in class frequently. The blogger has defined role model in different ways. The first as an agent which lets others know how to survive in a difficult time and how to overcome a trouble. Secondly, he says that the role model exemplifies maturity. He is trying to justify Katniss, a character from Hunger Games, as a role model. Despite her young age, she has family responsibilities to perform. It may be an inspiration or positive feedback for people. Her effort for the well being and good future of her family members is reiterated but outcomes are not stated in the writing. The character is involved in legally punishable activities like stealing and hunting. How can a person involved in such activities be positive role model? The final statement states three keys to be successful person- plan, passion and giving up. Plan, passion and giving up should be specified and described with examples. In spite of some lapses, the blog has exposed the gist of the Hunger Games by Suzzane Collins.I didn't know Suzzane collins before I read this blog but I have been acquainted with not only the author but also her novel,Hunger Games.
